This piece is quite personal as its a reinterpretation of something that happened to me when I was about 9 years old. I was with my family at Lisbons fun fair and we were at the Ghost Train ride. I insisted to go alone in the wagon, convinced I wouldnt be afraid of anything. As it turned out, as soon as the first puppet witch appeared I cowered inside the wagon, closed my eyes and ears, so I wouldnt hear the echoing laughter and screams (when I close my eyes I can still see her ). I came out really scared But now I love everything horror and fantasy related. This painting is also homage to Lisbons original fun fair the Feira Popular, which ceased to exist (political issues!). There was dirt, smoke, neon lights it all had a gritty underground feeling to it that really contributed to its magic. I wish I could go back to those times but I will always hold fond memories of it. I was also inspired by the movies Big (the Zoltar machine), Ghostbusters 2 (Rays Occult Books) and Blade Runner. I hope you like it and perhaps some of you will even identify with the image.
Fantastic piece! The mood is just perfect and I love the details, the cars in the background, the wires on the building and the ghostly red light emitting from the ventilation. Thank you for sharing your amazing piece!

The target of the war on terror is not the shadowy terrorist groups that we hear so much about. Rather its real intent is the increased regulation, control and surveillance of populations

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
