Exploration of new techniques can sometimes lead to satisfactory results, although, most of the time, they end up in the garbage folder.
With this one I made heavy use of Photoshop's lasso tool in the initial stages and sticked to only two brushes throughout the entire painting process: a more textured one with opacity set to pressure and a round one with pressure set to size+opacity.

If you don't mind, I'm leaving my interpretation and some critiques here
Sorry for my English in advance

I see here a tribe of nomads going through some frozen wasteland. They nomadize from one place to another searching for some food for them and their huge livestock. After fiding a good place to live they take everything they can out of the place - they hunt, they feed their beasts, then they leave nothing behind and go further.

They live like a big family, they share the same air, they are alike, but they are not eaqual. That is what I don't see on your picture unfortunatelly.

Their beasts are really huge and what I know about huge beasts - they live long and breed slowly. People breed much faster. Having your own beast is an honor which only bravest and strongest men can achieve. Children, women and slaves can not have a beast as their private property. So there are two basic options: either the whole family rides together one beast, or only men ride them while the other tribe members travel on their foot.

So I think you picture lacks these poor and rightless people either crowdling among riders or sitting on beasts' backs.

That big rider coming last looks really lonely - was it intended by master or not. But next one, going pre-last looks like rough noisy copy of the very last one. In my humble opinion, this mustn't be that way. If you can't distinguish them by color (for e.g. because this people don't have much vareity of dyes to color their clothes), you could make them have some variation of form: number and size of packs, different finery for beasts (like brides, jewellery, etc.)

And for the landscape I have nothing to add, it is really marvellous.

Mean no offence, only my opinion, tastes and views. The way I'd do if I was that quality.
