Forgotten Places by andreasrocha Forgotten Places by andreasrocha
I left it a little unfinished because I would like to get your feedback on this one on how it could be improved. I'll try and take the feedback into account and update continuously. Thank you.
Update: Thank you for all the wonderful comments. They helped me a lot! I think it is finished now.

A wonderful piece of art :) , also feel that the title both defines and gives more meaning to the work. Simply beautiful :)

Honestly, I don't think it looks unfinished. It's absolutely beautiful! The only improvement I can see able to be made is someone walking that path towards the buildings. Don't use it if you don't want to. :) (Smile)

I agree that the bright green draws the eye towards the castle.

Ah the weathered and wind-battered stone walls of Fjordgard. The light has long since gone out in the tumbled-down tower. For centuries it was the beacon and guardian of these deep, dark waters. Now abandoned and all but forgotten, these old, gray stones would stand empty for centuries more.

Your works are absolutely breathtaking! Each one I've seen is full of atmosphere and gives off a sense of being in that place itself. Gorgeous, sharp, detailed and well, amazing work.

I love everything about this one.  The concept, color, comp, level of focus, it's all extremely well done.  If you want to experiment with something in the future, try introducing different colors into the mix.  I understand why you have so much green and blue, but you can break up large open spaces more with splashes of warmer colors.  The purple in the cliff sides where the underpass sits is a great example.  It's not sharp or overpowering, but it breaks up the monotonous blue mountains ranges and cliffs.

This is a Magical and Unforgettable Painting.  The color composition, the shading, the delicate misting, the castle, the people near the castle, the gentle water, clouds, rocks and sky...I would not improve on anything in this awesome painting.  If need be to satisfy your want of an update...maybe paint another picture capturing what you think you have left out in this FORGOTTEN PLACES.

You, my friend, paint how I'd like to eventually be able to paint ;)

This is the "clouds going overhead" broken sunlight appearance the land has. The only thing that stuck out to me was that that little rock cliff in the middle left side - I maybe would have lightened that a little more. I see it's a touch lighter at the tip, but I think I would have taken it a bit further - in my head, when I picture it, it just feels more balance. But honestly I think that's more of a preference because I enjoy the light, lol.

Honestly it's perfect just as it is.

This is a wonderful piece.  The structure definitely feels like it might have some rich history or mysteries within it.  Great atmospheric perspective and the path helps guide the viewer's eye toward the forgotten place.  Fantastic job.

Are you interested in a book cover commission?
I am going to need a complete cover with image, fonts, ornaments and a piece of jewellery. The format is the entire book jacket with front, spine and back. The exact measurements are still to be decided as they depend on the layout and resulting page numbers and paper thickness for the print edition. For the ebook the front should be enough.
Please look at my DA page and the book cover that I have uploaded there and let me know whether you can create something similar.

First of all...beutiful my friend I like it very much. If I could provide any feedback it would be to put more clouding in the foreground of the image. Only because the castle is by a bay of water and a terrain like this would welcome more cloud I think it would bring more mystery to the castle in the imagination of the viewer. Otherwise...Excellent bud.
