I leave a suggestive title so you can decide if this guy makes it or if he is just a bit too ambitious...

As soon as he does a monster it looks like landscape. Awesome, moving, monstery landscape.

Bile rose in his throat at the sight of the beast.  Legs trembling, he braced himself for the charge, cursing all the gods for the slippery stone beneath him and the iron grey skies above.  "My name will live forever," his breathless exclamation the last sound the warrior made before battle ripped all thought but survival from him.

Gorgeous work.  Your whole gallery is great but this is my favorite piece.  Thank you for posting!  I hope my commentary is ok ^_^

Interesting. I would have to disagree with GeoBerserker. I think the frothing white water and the white of the sword breaks up the darkness around the scene. With the sky being dark, it surrounds our hero with dread and uncertainty. Even the Heavens are not in his favor. A sliver of hope is shining through by the light hitting his sword. The light spills onto the froth of the water, allowing him to see his opponent against the rocky background. Just my opinion.

Love the concept of this piece. I find I really like the atmosphere and mood you put into your work. I would say though I feel the frothing water is a weak point in this particular one. I feel it is way to bright and white. When I look at the rest of the background, it is very dark, gray and overcast feeling. I notice that the sword and helmet of the would be hero is bright as well, so maybe there is a break in the clouds above? If so, I would suggest maybe to adds some rays or something coming down, it feels somewhat awkward as it is. This is just my opinion and I know you didn't ask for a critique. This isn't to suggest that I am not a fan of your work, as I am definitely a fan and feel I can learn much from looking at your work, so apologies if you are offended, not my intention at all.

Heroes (and especially wanna-be heroes) tend to live short lives and to die violent deaths -- but hey, someone has to do it. Great picture...

It's great! Thanks for sharing! I especially like the very light values on the knight. Stuff like this always teaches me a lot!
