Crashing Waves by andreasrocha Crashing Waves by andreasrocha
For this painting I used a similar technique as my previous one -Dry Winds- It's a great exercise trying to reach a pleasing balance between different textures, moods, values, etc. I also wanted to create some kind of "dialogue" between the wet, cold, hard foreground and the warm, soft background.
Let me know your thoughts and thanks for watching.

What I wanna say

I feel cold wind blowing cold wet and salted drops to my face
And then starting warmth from the rising sun.
Wind is stronger, sunrise is weak.
But after every windflow comes faint relief
And it goes stronger every minute.

So
This picture shows the very moment before what I just described. The very first windflaw when the sun can't beat the wind yet.

Wow, beautiful! I love the textures you used, they almost make this look like a traditional piece rather than a digital one. Very nicely done.

what kind of brushes did you use for this? I'd love to know. did you put a canvas pattern overlay over the painting to give it that texture or did you achieve that solely through brushes?

Really Great work! Very realistic.
Im sure you did this in a few hours, Im starting with landscapes and I fall in the trap of the zoom and adding details, its is overwhelming =D
Can I ask you in what resolution you created this work ? 4200 x 2800 is to much?

Really wonderful and intense!
You have really achieved a harmony between the differences in textures of the landscape elements (like you mentioned)! It's all it's own but work together.
The colours and composition are great too, leads the eyes in and out of the work smoothly!
